FAQ
What is the Berachain bridge?
The Berachain bridge, built on the LayerZero protocol, enables secure asset transfers to and from the Berachain network. To bridge, you must first sign in with an EVM-compatible wallet such as Metamask or Rabby, and add the Berachain network to your wallet. For more on adding Berachain to your wallet, refer to our docs.
How does the bridge work?
The bridge can support all assets included in Uniswap’s token list. You can view the full list of supported assets here. However, if a native version of an asset doesn’t already exist on Berachain, it will need to be deployed before it can be bridged. Read further for more on deploying a bridge for your ERC-20 token.
Registering & Claiming Assets
The bridge operates as follows:
- For native assets (e.g., USDC, USDT0, WBTC) already deployed on Berachain, the bridge seamlessly transfers them in their native form.
- For assets that have not been deployed on Berachain, a Berachain-native equivalent must first be created before the asset can be bridged. To do so, visit the “deploy” page, follow the steps to deploy the asset, and it will then be available for bridging shortly after.
When do I need to deploy an asset before bridging?
If your asset isn’t listed already in the “bridge” page, it means a bridged equivalent hasn’t been created on Berachain yet. Go to the “deploy” page, follow the steps to deploy the asset, and it will then be available for bridging.
Why is my deployed asset not appearing on the bridge page?
After deploying an asset, it should appear in the “bridge” section within a few minutes. If it doesn’t, refresh the page or check your deployment status.
Are there limits on how much I can bridge?
Once an asset is deployed on Berachain, there are no limits to the quantity you can bridge between Ethereum and Berachain.
